This is a restaurant we've visited on prior trips to Oaxaca City and we made a point to eat here during our most recent visit. The restaurant has expanded over the years and now has a wonderful courtyard. The food has been consistently very good over the years. On this visit we had a tamal and enchiladas, all super good.
We were glad we chose to eat at Zandunga for our last dinner in the whole trip. I would say it was the best sit-down meal of my trip. I was very wary of the restaurant scene after going to a highly reviewed but terrible spot when I first got to Oaxaca (tourist-oriented, flavourless/not spicy). So this time, I listened to a local tour guide I went on a walking tour with who said she comes here on special occasions. The food, the service, and the drinks were exceptional. The best margarita I’ve ever had! All for a very reasonable price.

This place is stunning! The outside draws you in and it only gets more beautiful when you’re seated. The staff here are delightful and attentive and very helpful with explaining the menu. The food is outstanding, we were are large group and all ordered differently but every dish was amazing! Lovely ambiance with great music at a perfect volume so you can still talk. Equipped with a full bar and a good selection of mezcal. Came here on a recommendation and will definitely be back!
My wife and I stopped by for lunch for some drinks and shared appetizers. The tacos were delicious and the ceviche with shrimp fresh! Mezcal drinks were also flavorful. Would recommend.
My favorite finer dining experience in Oaxaca Centro. I've been here 6 times in the last year and I come here for the best craft cocktails and calming atmosphere when I'm in town. The staff is the sweetest and extremely knowledgeable on the local ingredients. Very chic decor, a must visit!
Food and drinks was among the best we had in Oaxaca. Service was good and the ambiance is excellent. We loved the tamales in mole sauce and the salad was great too.
